University of Delhi Announces Financial Support Scheme (FSS) 2023-24: Apply Now

University of Delhi's Financial Support Scheme (FSS) 2023-24, offering fee waivers for eligible students. Apply online by January 10, 2024, to secure academic financial assistance.

New Delhi, January 3, 2024 – In a bid to support students facing financial constraints, the University of Delhi has introduced the Financial Support Scheme (FSS). The scheme aims to provide fee waivers for eligible full-time undergraduate and postgraduate students enrolled in various programs across the university.

Eligibility Criteria for FSS:

The FSS is open to full-time bonafide students pursuing UG/PG degree programs at any Department/ Institution/ Centre of the University of Delhi, excluding those enrolled in B.Tech/Five Year Integrated Law Programs. Students studying in Constituent Colleges, School of Open Learning, or Non-Collegiate Women Education Board of UoD are not eligible for this scheme.

Application Process:

Eligible students can apply online through the official website of the Dean Students’ Welfare Office. The application form is available at this link. The deadline for submitting applications is January 10, 2024, before 5:00 PM.

Fee Waiver Categories:

The FSS provides fee waivers based on family income, with two categories outlined:

Category 1:

  • Family income less than or equal to ₹4,00,000/-
  • Fee waiver up to 100% of actual fees or a maximum of ₹10,000/-

Category 2:

  • Family income between ₹4,00,000/- and ₹8,00,000/-
  • Fee waiver up to 50% of actual fees or a maximum of ₹8,000/-

Exclusions:
The fee waiver covers all components of the fee paid by students except examination fees and hostel fees.

Documents Required:

Applicants must submit several documents along with the application form, including EWS/OBC-NCL certificates, income tax returns, PAN cards, undertaking duly signed by the applicant, bonafide certificate, mark sheet of the last exam passed, latest fee receipt, and bank passbook.

Important Dates:

  • Deadline for Online Application: January 10, 2024, before 5:00 PM.
  • Document Submission: As per the schedule declared on the DSW website on January 12, 2024.

Ineligibility Criteria Financial Support Scheme:

  • Students with Essential Repeat papers in the previous examination are not eligible.
  • Students admitted under the Orphan Quota are ineligible as they receive fee waivers under the Students’ Welfare Fund.
