In a crucial update for all Semester III students pursuing BA (Prog.) and B.Com (Prog.) programs, the university administration has released a notice regarding the selection of Common Courses, namely Generic Elective Course (GEC), Skill Enhancement Course (SEC), Value Addition Course (VAC), and Ability Enhancement Course (AEC).

Students are requested to adhere to the following guidelines for a smooth course selection process:

  1. Course Selection Method: Students must complete the course selection process by submitting their preferences through a designated Google form. The form can be accessed using the provided link: Course Selection Form. The deadline for submitting course preferences is 07.08.2023.
  2. Accuracy Matters: It’s crucial to accurately fill out the form since only one submission is allowed. Students should provide correct details such as name, college roll number, examination roll number, email address, and an active phone number.
  3. Mandatory Courses: BA Programme students, except those majoring in English Discipline, are required to enroll in English GEC for this semester. Similarly, all B.Com and BA students with English Discipline must take up Hindi GEC, based on their previous Hindi education level.
  4. Exceptions for GEC Choice: Some students may not have studied Hindi up to a certain level. Such students, including foreign students, have the option to choose a GEC from the common pool, excluding GECs offered by their core disciplines.
  5. Multiple GEC Choices: Students opting for a GEC from the common pool must provide three preferences in order. While efforts will be made to accommodate the first choice, availability may vary due to the number of applicants.
  6. Course Continuation: SEC or VAC courses taken in Semesters I or II cannot be selected again in Semester III. Additionally, some courses are sequels, like Vedic Mathematics and NCC, with prerequisites for enrollment.
  7. Environmental Science (EVS): All BA and B.Com students are required to undertake Environmental Science (EVS) as their AEC for Semester III.
  8. External Course Enrollment: Students seeking to pursue SEC or VAC courses externally should contact cluster colleges via the provided email address for registration.
  9. Future Choices: An option between SEC-3 or Internship/ Apprenticeship/Project/ Community Outreach (IAPC) will be available, pending approval.
  10. Late Submissions: Failure to submit the online form by the deadline may result in course allocation at the college’s discretion.

For a comprehensive list of available SECs and VACs, please refer to the provided details.

This notice aims to ensure a seamless and effective course selection process for Semester III BA (Prog.) and B.Com (Prog.) students. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
