About Indus Action
Harvard undergraduates created Indus Action with the goal of using public policy to address India’s enduring issues. The organisation aims to pinpoint the significant gaps between policy formulation and grassroots implementation. In order to close that gap, it also seeks to mobilise public resources and strengthen local communities.
The Right to Education Act of 2005’s Section 12(1)(c) was the subject of the first campaign launched by Indus Action in 2013. This clause requires unassisted, non-minority private schools to set aside a minimum of 25% of Nursery, Kindergarten, and Class 1 seats for children from underprivileged and economically weaker groups.
