New Delhi, India – CDLSA and Nek Mission Foundation is set to host a Nukkad Natak (street play) on the topic of Sexual assault at Arts Faculty of University of Delhi. The event is being organised in collaboration with a non-profit organisation Nek Mission Foundation.
The Nukkad Natak, which is a popular form of street theater in India, is aimed at raising awareness about the issue of sexual assault and encouraging people to speak up against it. The play will be performed by the artist of Aadhaar- The Theater Society of Motilal Nehru College, and will highlight the various forms of sexual assault and the impact it has on survivors.
“The purpose of this Nukkad Natak is to create awareness among students and the wider public about the issue of sexual assault and to encourage them to take action to prevent it. Sexual assault is a serious problem that affects women and men of all ages, and it’s important that we all work together to combat it,” said the organizer of the event.
The event is open to all students, faculty members, and members of the public. The organizers hope that the play will create a dialogue around the issue and encourage people to take a stand against sexual assault.
Sexual assault is a pervasive problem in India, with many incidents going unreported due to societal and cultural barriers. Events like the Nukkad Natak are important in raising awareness and creating a dialogue around the issue.
The Nukkad Natak is scheduled to take place near the Statue of Swami Vivekanad, Faculty of Arts, on 20th February 2023 from 2 PM onwards, and is expected to attract a large number of students and members of the public.
