DELHI’S SHRUTI SHARMA , A DU AND JNU STUDENT , TOPS UPSC CIVIL SERCVICE EXAM

UPSC results for 2021 were declared on 30th May, declaring Shruti Sharma as topper. A total of 685 candidates have been recommended by UPSC for the new batch of IAS officers, IFS officers and other posts with the Central Government. Out of these 685 candidates, Shruti managed to top and secure the AIR Rank 1. Shruti Sharma , resident of Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh was a student of History. She has said to have completed her Bachelors from St Stephen’s College of DU and later on went on to pursue her postgraduate degree from Jawaharlal Nehru University, JNU. Shruti aspires to join the Indian Administrative Services, IAS.

After completing her education from St Stephen’s College of Delhi University, she began to prepare for the UPSC IAS Exams and her hard work and dedication have led her to become an All India Topper for the 2021 batch of Civil Services officers. She was confident about qualifying for the UPSC exam but never thought that she will top the merit list. The first position came as a surprise, as told by her in interviews. Expressing happiness over the results she said she wants to serve the country by joining the Indian Administration Services (IAS).

 In the results announced on Monday, all the top three positions have been secured by girl candidates. Ankita Agarwal and Gamini Singla have emerged as the second and third rank holders, respectively. It is extremely overwhelming to know that the both the 1st and 2nd rank holders are former DU students. It’s indeed a proud moment and we wish for more DU students serving to the Nation.
